Being a part of Jody and Tyra's day was truly an honor! The overall feeling of the day was that it was a family affair and they treated me just the same way! The couple being from Florida, the first time I met them was the day of the wedding and I was greeted with open arms and love like they'd known me forever! Talk about a great start to the day! Everyone that was a part of the day was so close, you couldn't tell where one family ended and the next one started!
If you tried to tell me there is a sweeter couple than Tanea and Jerry, well, you'd be wrong! Just look at these guys; they made it so easy on me with their session at the Sheraton Read House in downtown Chattanooga, TN. I set up my equipment and they got to sweet talking each other; no posing needed for this newly married couple! The difficult part: editing! Almost every photo I took of this couple was perfect, so editing was an excruciating task; I can't imagine having to just pick one!
I love the backdrops we used for this shoot. We had originally planned all outdoors but mother nature in Chattanooga doesn't always give what you ask for! We relocated the majority of it to the Sheraton Read House downtown, snooped around the Starbucks then headed to the Hunter Museum for just a few sweet shots then called it a very cold day. Enjoy sifting through these images!!
On the heels of all of Chattanooga's snow days this February, On Point threw their annual fundraising dinner for the non profit group. This years speaker was author, lawyer, truth-teller and dare I say "personality" Bob Goff! Click the blog post to read and see more!
How sweet is this little man?! I visited Sebastian's home to capture this little personality turning ONE YEAR OLD! We played and laughed and chased, oh my! It's been a while since we photographed a little one, but the cardio you work into the shoot and the giggles alone are so worth it! I think Sebastian would've been just fine with me photographing him jumping on the bed all day but we worked around the house visiting the back yard (that swing, my gosh, love it!) and playing peek-a-boo which all lead up to the CAKE SMASH!! This little guy wasn't so sure about being watched while he tore into his amazing cake by Chatta Cakes but he was darling enough to reach over and share it with his mommy...awww!
Do I even have to mention those blue peepers?! Watch out girlies, Sabastian has some sparklers!! Happy Birthday, baby boy!
This session with Claire and Mitch was SO precious! Claire's family and my husbands family were close as the kiddos grew up, so since Jared and I got married, I've known Claire...she's kind of been adopted into the Rawlinson family as "Claire Bear"....(sorry Claire, I had to!). That being said, after I met her Mitch, we were slightly protective but the good news is he gets to stick around!! This couple is the epitome of sweet and lovable...just look at these photos and try to argue!! They totally dote on each other which left my job fairly simple; stand back and capture what happened! With their first year mark approaching, they wanted a little session of their life right now and what better place to go than to Lula Lake?! Claire and Mitch love to spend their time together on trails and discovering new places, so these water falls on Lookout Mountain totally fit the bill! Thanks for inviting me and my camera into your lives for an hour guys! Mitch, it won't bee too long and you'll have an adopted Rawlinson nickname too!! You picked your gal well! Happy one year, you guys!
Oh my word, the Pack Family, you guys! I couldn't get enough of this precious little family of 4 (see Brinkley, the pup, below!) during our shoot in their home in Chattanooga. It's so clear that Ashley and Tyler are just oodles in love with each other and that love has extended to darling, brand new little Elliott! The smooches, the snuggles, oh my! We used their newly self-renovated home as the backdrop to capture the family's love in action! As inviting as the rest of the house is, Elliott's nursery is so charming and tells a story of family. Between his rocking chair handed down from grandparents, Ashley's hope chest that is now third generation and little gifts from friends around the room, you could just feel the love that Elliott already has so early in his sweet life.
Oh, have I mentioned the "The Very Hungry Caterpillar" outfit that was made by his grandmother?! I could go on and on but I'll let the photos speak for themselves! We can't wait to watch you grow little Elliott!
(P.S. - How can you tell these two will be awesome parents?! As we got ready for the sweet sans clothes shots, Elliott decided it was the right time to potty about 3 - 4 times. Their parents...well just check out how CHILL they were below!)
I was welcomed into the Combs Family home this fall to shoot a family lifestyle session including their sweet pups! The family recently purchased and remodeled their home and it has such wonderful light, it was decided the photos would be taken where the family spends the most time: in their den! Just what we love to see and capture...love, snuggles and laughter! Thanks Combs Family!
I met the Winn family at the Walnut St. bridge in downtown Chattanooga for their yearly fall family portraits. They mix it up every year; one year they do formal portraits, the next they do casual, candid portraits. Is that not genius?! I love that idea! So, this year of course we did casual and candid! We walked around the area and stopped by spots the family likes in the Bluff View Arts District as well as managing to catch a couple fall trees here and there. These siblings absolutely adored each other and made it easy on the camera (and me!). Your family was a joy to shoot, thank you!
Where do I start with this shoot?! This was such an awesome blend of lifestyle photography at home mixed with some fun outdoors shots, both of which are my favorites! And let me tell you, these boys are ALL boy! Lesley wanted some fun, hanging out photos and I didn't even have to yell action before the kiddos got straight to playing, giggling and cuddling! After all the fun, we headed to Cloudland Station in Georgia, which is absolutely gorgeous! In between shots, the boys played football and goofed around like little boys do. So. Cute. We worked our way from one end of the community to the other photographing along the way. I so enjoyed every aspect of this session and can't wait to see these printed and hung on their walls! Thanks Scearce Family!
Scearce Family - Fall Session - Chattanooga, TN & Lookout Mountain, GA
I met up with singing, dancing Kaitlyn and her mommy, Melissa for a quick fall mini shoot and let me tell you, it was one of my favorites! Who can deny that naturally red hair!? We used downtown Memphis and midtown by the Memphis College of Art as our backdrops and the landscape matched Ms. Kaitlyn perfectly! Keep dancing, Kaitlyn!
I SO enjoyed this maternity shoot with Michele and her family! It was a gorgeous day with beautiful light and Michele couldn't have been a more radiant momma! Her sweet little ones loved snuggling with her and taking some photos with their soon-to-be sibling. Her husband, Chris, was such a support and you could see the love for his bride during their photos together. Michele, I can't wait to meet your new little one and I enjoyed spending the morning with you at Greenway Farms in Chattanooga!
This family: what do I say?! I mean, can you sense the genuine, hilarious personality going on here? They came into this session eager to get the "normal" shots and threw in some love and laughter in between. Chad had no problem showing off his wife and showing her love during this session which had us all laughing and had me snapping away endlessly! It wasn't just all laughs, walking from site to site, we went deep into discussion about everything from global warming, to the care of homeless people to Jesus. The Jone's family kiddos were in on it too! Watch out for this family; they will be making an impact somewhere! Their youngest daughter was so cute; she was absolutely giddy and afraid of the geese around us but at the end she snuck me over to the water to capture what is the last photo in this blog. She did it; so brave! So much love to you guys!!
For the Stiles family, we did an all-in-one kind of session! Sweet Laura Claire is the newest addition to the family so we started at the Stiles' home for a couple of newborn photos. We didn't plan on so much time at home but brother Owen and sister Ella couldn't put their darling sister down! And I was a-ok with that! These at-home photos turned out to be our favorites! Of course, as it happens, Laura Claire didn't want to sleep at home (where all of the sweet sleeping newborn photos were scheduled to take place), but a ride to a nearby train park did the trick. After snapping off some of her in a deep slumber, we got to portraits of the big kids who were happy to oblige in sweet, giggly photos. I love the posed and candid feel to this session; these kids were game for anything! This family is just the sweetest!
